 Far Cry 3

Article Title:
Game Review: Far Cry 3

Article Source:
  Gizmag

Summary:
Far Cry 3 is an open world game. It allows you to do pretty much anything like drive cars, play poker, go hunting, swim with sharks, and many other things. You go on a vacation to an island and then the island gets taken over by a group of militant soldiers your vacation pretty much turns into a fight for survival.

Reaction:
I haven't played the game yet but I look forward to playing it in the near future. I have watched many videos of the game and it looks really nice the graphics are awesome the gameplay is quick and seamless. It looks like an overall good game.

World Impact:
I don’t think the world impact is that big considering its a video game but I do think it impacts the gamers of the world. I think far Cry 3 sets the bar high for video game developers. It makes other game developers work really hard to make games good enough to compete with a game like Far Cry 3.

Article Title:
Solar carve tower means not to intrude

Article Source:
I got my article from Gizmag

Summary:
There biulding a 213 foot high skyscrapper in New York. Studio Gang Architects are responsible for the design of the biulding. The solar Carve tower is named for its tapered design. The reason it is carved out that away is so it is never in direct sunlight.

Reaction:
I think it is crazy how they can biuld a biulding with those types of curves and it actually be safe. From the outside of the biulding it looks like it could just be blown over by the wind. The solar carve tower is a real work of art.

World Impact:
I think it will have a pretty big world impact because if people realize they can save a lot of money by just changing the shape of the biulding so that it is never in direct sunlight. If the biulding is never in direct sunlight that means it want get as hot as the other biulding that sit in the sun all day. Which cuts down on airconditioning cost. This could also be a bad thing because in the winter when its cold the biulding want really get anysun light which means they will have to spend more money on heating the biulding.

My Weekly Blog Review

This has been the best week yet since we started school back in august. We Have been in our new building for two weeks now. The only thing we really did this week was take some notes and work on our e portfolios.

We added a lot of new stuff to our e portfolios like our blogs and we embedded all our web 2.0 tools in our portfolio. We didn't have a new web 2.0 tool this week which i'm kind of glad we didn't because that just means more work.

  • Scam- An attempt to trick someone, usually with the intention of stealing money or private information.

  • Identity theft- A type of crime in which your private information is stolen and used for criminal activity.

  • Vulnerable- In a position that makes it easier for you to be harmed or attacked.

  • Phishing When people send you phony emails, pop-up messages, social media messages, texts, calls, or links to fake websites in order to hook you into giving out your personal and financial information.

Here are a few things that can happen if your identity gets stolen you could lose money, lose credit, lose money, get robbed, etc. Thats why its best to keep up with everything you do.

Here is 4 rules to follow to protect yourself online:
  1. Avoid opening the message or email in the first place
  2. Don't click on any links
  3. Don't reply
  4. Mark as ‘junk mail’ or ‘spam’ for your email provider

That's everything for this week it has been a fun and easy week i'm really looking forward to the weekend and i'm pretty sure y'all are to. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog. I can't wait to do another one next week.

1. Topic: The new 2013 Nissan GT-R

2. Article Title: Nissan shows off gorgeous 2013 GT-R, for sale in Japan in this month

3. Article Source: I got this article from Gizmag

4. Summary: One of the first things it focused on was improved engine response in mid- and upper-rpm range. Also Nissan focused on improving body rigidity for the new model. Another focus of the new GT-R is its overall ride stability. They also lowered the car slightly so that the car would have a lower center of gravity.

5. Reaction: I feel that they have greatly improved the GT-R since there last model with all the new features. It personally doesn’t affect me because the car is like 200 thousand dollars. If I ever do have that kind of money I would definitely consider buying the Gt-R.

6. World Impact: I think it is a big accomplishment for Nissan because that is one of the best cars they make. With all the new technology they put in these new cars it really shows what Nissan is capable of doing. The only people I think it would really impact would be the richer people because you would have to be rich to afford a car like the GT-R.

Weekly Blog Review

We did a lot of learning this week. One thing I really Liked that we did was Mix Book. We Didnt do a digital drvers license this week so that made my week a little bit easier.

• Track:When companies collect information about you based on your online behavior

• Target:When companies tailor content to you based on the information they have collected about you

• Demographic:Common categories of the population, such as age, gender, and race

• Cookies:Data files that are stored on your computer when you visit certain sites, which are often used by companies to identify repeat customers and personalize visitors’ experiences

Mix Book was are new web 2.0 tool. It was really cool because it allowed you to make an online scrap book. Anything you can do in a scap book you could do on mix book online. You can insert pictures type even put stickers on it. When your done with it you can even print it out.

Benefits:
less clutter
companies only advertise to those who have a possibility of buying
personalized so it saves you time

Risks:
less choices
spyware
malware

As you can see there are way more risks than there are Benefits. We had a class talk and listed 7 ways to limit data collection. After we did that we made a mixbook and created a guide to avoid being hacked and limit data collection online. I will put mine below for you to see.

1. Topic:
It is about the new exoskeleton first responder suit.

2. Article Title:
Japanese first responders to wear robotic exoskeletons

3. Article Source:
I got the article from Gizmag

4. Summary:
The suit has tungsten shields which reduces radiation exposure by almost 50 percent. There is also a cooling system built into the suit to prevent a heat stroke. The suit also shows vital signs and heart rate in real time. Most of the tools that you have to carry can be put in the exoskeleton legs.

5. Reaction:
I feel that this suit is going to be a great help. It allows people to be around radiation without getting affected by it. Which is a great help to the Japanese in cleaning up the radiation. It doesn't really affect me now but if anything ever happen around here and it caused radiation to leak out. Those suits would be really helpful in cleaning it up.

6. World Impact:
It has a big world impact because the suit allows people to withstand radiation even longer than before. With 435 nuclear power plants world wide if anything would ever happen to them these suits would allow people to clean the radiation up faster. I could also see how these suits would help the military. If the military wasn't for sure if there was any radiation in the area they could put on these suits to check it out. I think every nuclear power plant should have enough suits there for everybody in the building just in case the plant had a leak.

Weekly blog review

Are week was full of learning. We did the digital drivers license we also did a Glogster. This week has been mostly how people see you online. We learned a lot of new vocabulary words this week I will give you a list of them below.

Represent- How you present your self to others

Persona- An image or personality you show to others

Avatar- Graphic image to represent you online

Anonymous- Hidden identity

Inhibited- Careful or restrained in action or impulse

Glogster is a very cool little web 2.0 tool. It allows you to insert pictures and video. It is very easy and fun to use. It is sort of like a blog. We also did a new Digital  Drivers License. It was about communications, etiquette, and safety.

There is many ways to stay real online here is 3 ways.
  • Don't get into any relationship that is not safe
  • Treat people the way you want to be treated
  • Don't get involved in other peoples business

I will put the glogster I made below for you to see:

It is about the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG hybrid supercar.

2. Article Title:
Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive – the world's fastest production electric supercar

3. Article Source:
I got the article from Gizmag

4. Summary:
The new Mercedes SLS it completely hybrid. It has a range of only 150 miles witch it not real far. The SLS is the fastest production hybrid car. It goes 0 to 62 in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 155 miles per hour. The battery of the SLS takes 20 hours to fully charge. The car has 750 horsepower which is a lot for a hybrid car.

5. Reaction:
I think this article could affect me in the future because this new technology could be used in another car that I might buy in the future. If the technology keeps improving it might mean that i might not have to spend money on gas I can just recharge my car.

6. World Impact:
I think it has a big world impact. It is completely electric that means there is no pollution. It is also the first electric production car to reach a top speed of 155 miles per hour which is really fast compared to most electric cars. The outside of the car looks exactly like the SLS AMG coupe except the SLS coupe runs off of gas.

Weekly blog review

The week has been awesome. We have learned a ton of stuff the past two weeks. Last week we did not have a blog post because we have been learning about the same stuff since last week.

We did this cool video about cyber-bullying. We did the video on we video Its a really neat site that allows you to edit videos. It is fun to edit videos if you're willing to spend along time to make a short video.

We have learned a lot more vocabulary words all the words we have learned has something to do with bullying. I will give you a list of the words below.

  • Target- Is the victim
  • Offender- Bully-malicious intent want to cause harm
  • Bystander- Witness who does nothing to help out
  • Up stander-Witness who does something about the situation.
  • Escalate- Intensifies-increases
  • De-Escalate- decreases the problem

A few ways to be an up-stander is to support the victim, help stop the violence, and confront the offender. Bullying is a big deal so don’t just be a bystander people need to stand up for what is wrong.

We didn't have a digital drivers license this week so that was a plus I really don't like the digital drivers license because they are pretty boring if you ask me. The only thing I like about the DDL is that  it is really easy to make a good grade on and it counts as a quiz grade.

I will put the video I made on we video below for y’all to check out it is
a cool little video.

Its about the new Mclaren P1 supercar.

2. Article Title:
Mclaren provides (some) P1 supercar details

3. Article Source:
I got the article from Gizmag

4. Summary:
Its about the new Mclaren P1 supercar. It is a formula 1 inspired supercar. The car has the highest level of down force than any other car on the planet.
The Mclaren P1 has a full carbon fiber body which reduces the weight and makes the car really strong. The P1 has many air intakes to keep the engine cool.

5. Reaction:
I think that this car is going to be great. If you have the money and you want a true supercar then the P1 is definitely the car to get. It has formula 1 technology. It is the only street car to have a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS). The device recovers the kinetic energy that is from the cars braking process. It stores that energy and converts it into power that can be used to boost the cars acceleration.

6. World Impact:
It is about time that a company has made a true supercar. Most supercar companies focus mainly on speed. Mclaren is the total opposite when is comes to making supercars. They focus not only on speed but great performance. They try to make an all around awesome car and that's exactly what they have done with the Mclaren P1.

Weekly blog review

I was surprised how fast the week has went by. It feels like yesterday was Monday. The week has been great so far. I'm looking forward to Friday because all my classes are only a hour long then we go to are clubs. This week has been full of learning.

We started off the week by editing are partners blog post. The persons blog I edited was great. They had very little mistakes. The way we edit there blogs is by using a sheet of paper that are teacher gives use with all these different guidelines.

We also learned about self disclosure, reciprocate and sexting. The way we learned more about these topics were by doing little activities like making a comic strip using makebeliefscomix its a free website used to make cool little comics then we got in groups in the class and did questions on the board. That day was pretty fun because there wasn't much we had to do. The other topic we learned about was how to build relationships online a few of the ways we talked about was online dating, using Skype, buying them stuff online etc.

  • Self disclosure- Sharing private, sensitive or confidential information about yourself to others.
  • Reciprocate- To give in return.
  • Sexting- sending or receiving sexually explicit photos or videos by text or other device.

That is all I have for this week I'm looking forward to posting my next weekly blog next week. I will post the make belief comics below for you to see.

Weekly Blog Review

Create your own mind maps at MindMeister

My week has been pretty good. We have learned a lot of different stuff  like new web 2.0 tools, vocabulary.
The class did this thing called A.S.P.E.C.T it is a tool to help you to make sure the site your on is real. It is pretty cool because it is six words that if you follow them you will have no problem on the internet. Here is what A.S.P.E.C.T means.

  • A=Authority
  • S=Source
  • P=Purpose
  • E=Evenness
  • C=Coverage
  • T =Timeliness

The new web 2.0 tool that we learned about is mindmeister. It allows you to create this little map of information. Its kind of like a prezi it just doesn't move all the information you put in is all one page. MindMeister is cool and all but its kind of plain I would recommend using prezi if your wanting to present information in a cool way.

We took another long test on Wednesday about stems it was 50 questions long. Surprisingly I did well on that test. I normally can't keep focused on really long test but the stems test only take about 20 minutes to complete so I done really good on it.

We did the digital drivers license again this week. I think it is fun because the only thing you have to do it watch a short video and answer a few easy questions. That is all I have for this week I look forward to writing another post next week.

Its about a XM-25 smart grenade launcher

2. Article Title:
XM-25: The US Army's first smart shoulder-fired weapon

3. Article Source:
I got the article from Gizmag

4. Summary:
It is a smart grenade launcher, it is capable of taking out enemy behind walls or in fox holes using an air burst grenade. They can program the grenade to detonate over top of whatever they want. A German arms manufacturer called Heckler & Koch and a US manufacturer called Alliant Tech systems. Both companies helped build the semi-automatic five shot smart grenade launcher called the XM-25. The weapon has two types of non-lethal grenades blunt and agent dispersing air burst plus armor piercing, and door breaching grenades. The smart grenade launcher is Capable of hitting a point target at 500 meters and area targets at 700 meters away.

5. Reaction:
I feel this weapon is going to help out a lot of soldiers because they said it improves their accuracy by 400%. With a rang up to 700 meters away. The soldier doesn't even have to be close to take out an enemy. I feel that every soldier in the battlefield should have access to one of these smart grenade launchers. The weapon can be used day or night because it has an infrared scope and a thermal optic scope. The weapon also has a rangefinder.

6. World Impact:
The XM-25 impacts the world by allowing the soldiers to be more effective on the battlefield. If they have better weapons they will be less soldiers dieing. If they can fight the war without ever having to get close to the enemy then that's the way they need to fight it.

Weekly Blog Review

At the beginning of the week we got assigned new partners. The partners are there to read are post's, comment, and to help us edit our post before posting them.

Every two weeks we do a stems test. I'm glad we do stems test because I find them to be really easy. Its kind of like a free good grade because sense last year we learned about them. There are twenty-five new stems every two weeks. The test last week had thirty-three questions twenty-five from that week and eight from the other week.

We also took a grammar test this week I thought it was really easy but when I finished the test and checked my grade I had failed it I made a sixty-nine but there was one hundred questions so I think that's why I failed  it because the test was really long and I only start missing the questions near the end of the test.

I did this thing called digital drivers license. Where we had to take a quiz on the stuff your suppose to do online. The quiz was really easy so it was a free hundred so I hope we have many more of those easy quizzes.

I also learned how to do photo editing. I thought it was really cool. We had to edit someones picture in a good way and a bad way. I will put the picture that I edited below for y'all to see.

1. Topic:
Its about a key-chain keyboard.

2. Article Title:
CTX Virtual Keyboard fits on a key-chain

3. Article Source:
I got my article from Gizmag

4. Summary:
It is a virtual keyboard that is able to fit on a key-chain. It project a keyboard onto any flat surface. It uses lasers to project the keyboard. It uses Bluetooth to connect to connect wirelessly to almost any smartphone.

5. Reaction:
I feel this technology can really help out people that uses their smart phones a lot as a computer. It will not make your thumbs hurt from typing for a hour because it is like a normal keyboard. This event doesn’t affect me. I do not get on the internet much with my smartphone. when I get on the internet I normally just get on my computer because the small screen on my smartphone make it hard to see the very small words on the internet.

6. World Impact:
I think it’s going to help anybody that uses their smartphones as computers. Typing on a smartphone can get annoying because your fingers can hit the wrong button that makes you spend more time backspacing than actually typing. That is why the Key-chain keyboard is so much better than your phones keyboard it allows you to type easily. It also allows you to have a full keyboard anywhere you go.

weekly blog review

This week we have learned about many things like animoto, Being a digital citizen and how to respect other peoples privacy on the internet most of the online ethics are common sense but some people need to be reminded the rules. Here is a list of the vocabulary words we have learned this week.

  • Online ethics
  • Digital citizenship
  • Privacy
  • Self expression
  • Connected culture

Animoto is a fun way to make music videos it is quick and easy. The only thing you have to do to create a video is follow the directions on animoto Flickr really helped me find pictures to use I embedded mine so you could see an example.

We have also learned about how to break down a sentence and diagram it I found it to be pretty easy considering we did the same exact thing last year.

we also took a stems test today I did pretty good considering I really didn't study this week. We also learned about stems last year so that really helps me out for this year.

Over all my week has been going pretty good the only thing is I didn't complete my animoto on time but that's not going to hurt my grade. I am so happy its Friday I can't wait to get home.

5. Reaction
I think the I phone 5 is going to be awesome. It is a huge upgrade from the I phone 4s. I like the fact it will run faster Than the I phone 4s. I am for sure buying the I phone 5. It will make it easier on me because I'm on the web on my phone a lot and this would allow me to search stuff a lot faster.

6. World Impact
I think the impact on the world will be because of how fast the phone is going to be. The camera on the phone is 8 megapixel witch is better than some cameras. It records at 30 frames per second. The only thing bad about the I phone 5 is it is a little pricy  It is 299 dollars with a two year contract. Over all it is a going to be a good phone and I'm looking for to buying it.

Blog post

  • We have learned about Google reader and how it helps you keep your blogs organized. It is so much easier than trying to keep up with all of your blogs it keeps up with them for you. We have also learned about RSS feed that is short for really simple syndication.

  • This new stuff we have learned has really helped me out it allows me to check all my stuff way faster and it allows me to find blogs that are like the ones I already have subscribed to with a click of a button which is a lot easier than trying to go to Google and search for random blogs. I see nothing but positive stuff with these web 2.0 tools that we have learned about this week. My interactions online have improved greatly sense I have learned about these web 2.0 tools like Google reader and the RSS feeds.

  • My week has been great I have learned a lot about email etiquette Google reader RSS feeds and so much more I find the schoolwork to be really simple. I have had a almost no homework and the homework I have had has been easy enough to do in class so I did not have to take the homework home. I really like this school. I can not wait to learn more and better stuff about the internet.
