Solar carved towers

Article Title:
Solar carve tower means not to intrude

Article Source:
I got my article from Gizmag

Summary:
There biulding a 213 foot high skyscrapper in New York. Studio Gang Architects are responsible for the design of the biulding. The solar Carve tower is named for its tapered design. The reason it is carved out that away is so it is never in direct sunlight.

Reaction:
I think it is crazy how they can biuld a biulding with those types of curves and it actually be safe. From the outside of the biulding it looks like it could just be blown over by the wind. The solar carve tower is a real work of art.

World Impact:
I think it will have a pretty big world impact because if people realize they can save a lot of money by just changing the shape of the biulding so that it is never in direct sunlight. If the biulding is never in direct sunlight that means it want get as hot as the other biulding that sit in the sun all day. Which cuts down on airconditioning cost. This could also be a bad thing because in the winter when its cold the biulding want really get anysun light which means they will have to spend more money on heating the biulding.

My Weekly Blog Review

This has been the best week yet since we started school back in august. We Have been in our new building for two weeks now. The only thing we really did this week was take some notes and work on our e portfolios.

We added a lot of new stuff to our e portfolios like our blogs and we embedded all our web 2.0 tools in our portfolio. We didn't have a new web 2.0 tool this week which i'm kind of glad we didn't because that just means more work.

  • Scam- An attempt to trick someone, usually with the intention of stealing money or private information.

  • Identity theft- A type of crime in which your private information is stolen and used for criminal activity.

  • Vulnerable- In a position that makes it easier for you to be harmed or attacked.

  • Phishing When people send you phony emails, pop-up messages, social media messages, texts, calls, or links to fake websites in order to hook you into giving out your personal and financial information.

Here are a few things that can happen if your identity gets stolen you could lose money, lose credit, lose money, get robbed, etc. Thats why its best to keep up with everything you do.

Here is 4 rules to follow to protect yourself online:
  1. Avoid opening the message or email in the first place
  2. Don't click on any links
  3. Don't reply
  4. Mark as ‘junk mail’ or ‘spam’ for your email provider

That's everything for this week it has been a fun and easy week i'm really looking forward to the weekend and i'm pretty sure y'all are to. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog. I can't wait to do another one next week.

1. Topic: The new 2013 Nissan GT-R

2. Article Title: Nissan shows off gorgeous 2013 GT-R, for sale in Japan in this month

3. Article Source: I got this article from Gizmag

4. Summary: One of the first things it focused on was improved engine response in mid- and upper-rpm range. Also Nissan focused on improving body rigidity for the new model. Another focus of the new GT-R is its overall ride stability. They also lowered the car slightly so that the car would have a lower center of gravity.

5. Reaction: I feel that they have greatly improved the GT-R since there last model with all the new features. It personally doesn’t affect me because the car is like 200 thousand dollars. If I ever do have that kind of money I would definitely consider buying the Gt-R.

6. World Impact: I think it is a big accomplishment for Nissan because that is one of the best cars they make. With all the new technology they put in these new cars it really shows what Nissan is capable of doing. The only people I think it would really impact would be the richer people because you would have to be rich to afford a car like the GT-R.

Weekly Blog Review

We did a lot of learning this week. One thing I really Liked that we did was Mix Book. We Didnt do a digital drvers license this week so that made my week a little bit easier.

• Track:When companies collect information about you based on your online behavior

• Target:When companies tailor content to you based on the information they have collected about you

• Demographic:Common categories of the population, such as age, gender, and race

• Cookies:Data files that are stored on your computer when you visit certain sites, which are often used by companies to identify repeat customers and personalize visitors’ experiences

Mix Book was are new web 2.0 tool. It was really cool because it allowed you to make an online scrap book. Anything you can do in a scap book you could do on mix book online. You can insert pictures type even put stickers on it. When your done with it you can even print it out.

Benefits:
less clutter
companies only advertise to those who have a possibility of buying
personalized so it saves you time

Risks:
less choices
spyware
malware

As you can see there are way more risks than there are Benefits. We had a class talk and listed 7 ways to limit data collection. After we did that we made a mixbook and created a guide to avoid being hacked and limit data collection online. I will put mine below for you to see.
